ABOUT SaaS:

‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) refers to any service in the Cloud that allows users to gain access to software apps over the internet. SaaS apps are hosted remotely in the Cloud and it’s this that gives both organizations and individuals easy access to a wide range of different functions. You’re probably using SaaS apps without even realizing it – Facebook, Netflix and Google are all examples of SaaS.

SaaS is a bit like ‘on-demand’ software. There’s no need for the user to actually download and install anything onto their computer. Instead, a monthly subscription to the software is offered, and the files are saved in the Cloud rather than physically on a user’s device. This presents many advantages to the user. There is no requirement for expensive new hardware as all the necessary processing tools are provided by the Cloud service provider.
